I wish I knew then what I know now…that I was fighting a powerful disease—perhaps two at the same time, plus heartbreak.  I had unresolved mourning piled up above the tall Sierra Nevada trees.

Far different than our 10th anniversary where we sang take my love, take my whole heart too…cause I can't help falling in love with you.

Now, I'm the consolation prize left on the back shelf of a storeroom, somewhere near Reno.  I try every day to pick myself off the floor and remove a bit more of the accumulated dust.  I smile by myself when I see some skin begin to show under the layers of pollen, trash, and other unclaimed goods.
