Don't let them steal your Park

Stop for a minute and think about Central Park Conservancy. Good group, right? Pretty lawns? But think again and you see a group that's taking public property to recreate it in their own images...a place where white suburban parents feel right at home. A place where organized sports teams from the largest law firms can frolic (but don't even try if you just want a pick-up game of adult soccer). What percentage of the Central Park Conservancy Board is white, and what percent are parents? And, by the way, what percent of the CPC budget is spent on fences and "keep off" signs? This is a group that's determined to keep you out of your Park!
Who would want this job anyway? I think we're heading in the right direction after 8 years with George Bush the war criminal, who reminded me of a quote I believe comes from Winston Churchill: "A leader is some one who can fail again and again without losing enthusiasm." I'm still looking for the one thing he did right. Can he take credit for the fact that only two of our tallest buildings fell during his term? Hardly--
What's the worst professional association you've ever had to work with? Let me know!
